Hope to see you at the Doubletree for our next lunch meeting Thursday, November 20 when PDG David Simmer will share his knowledge and passion about The Rotary Foundation.
Since our last meeting, several Mesa West Rotary members and volunteers who've become friends travelled to Guaymas Mexico where they worked with Guaymas Rotarians and school officials at a local school to conduct our annual hearing mission. During the two-day clinic, 210 patients were seen, 127 hearing aids were fitted. and 178 ear molds were made. We look forward to hearing more news about this year's adventure.
Paul Harris Fellow recognition is given to anyone who contributes at least US $1,000 to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved global grant. This recognition, which consists of a certificate and pin, can also be given on behalf of someone else.
More than 1.85 million people have become Paul Harris Fellows since 1957, including notable figures such as former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, former Russian President Boris Yeltsin, and polio vaccine developer Dr. Jonas Salk.
Are you ready to become a Paul Harris Fellow and support The Rotary Foundation at this level?
Volunteers from Mesa West Rotary helped out the Mesa Police Department for their Halloween Drive-Thru event. We decorated police vehicles and handed out candy!
Additionally, the Mesa West Rotary Life Skills and Beyond event was a great success! More to come later, but here are a few pictures from November 1st.
As Rotarians, we are regularly exposed to opportunities to support various causes with our time, talent and treasure. Sometimes it is hard to sift through all the information and decide where we are going to use our available financial resources.
It would be wonderful if every Mesa West Rotarian would make the following BIG FOUR their Rotary charities of choice and support every one of them every year, we could make a bigger difference than we are making today.
