Support Eric Boateng's Road to Recovery
Interact Assistant Governor Eric Boateng, by pre-arrangement, left the Interact District Council Retreat early Saturday night July 19, in order to drive home to Anthem for his parents to then take him to catch a flight from Phoenix to Washington, DC, where he was to attend a National Youth Leadership Conference. Unfortunately, due to some reported traffic congestion on I-17, his GPS re-routed him down Hwy 89A, to connect with Hwy 93 north of Wickenburg. It was at that junction he was involved in a horrific accident, from which he was airlifted to Phoenix Children's Hospital. There he underwent 6 hours of surgery on Sunday morning (July 20), repairing a badly-broken right leg and fractures in both of his feet, among other injuries. He is now recuperating at home. He is in a wheelchair and is undergoing physical therapy to enable him to eventually be able to walk again.

Eric served as an Interact Ambassador to Kenya last year. His twin brother, Derrick Boateng, is this year's Interact District Governor, and served on this year's Kenya Team.
