Once again this year, Interact District 5495 is proudly sponsoring its Interact Crutches 4 Africa, Project — a state-wide international service project, in partnership with the Rotarian Crutches 4 Africa nonprofit organization. Our Interact clubs throughout the state worked together to collect more than 3,500 crutches, walkers, wheelchairs and other mobility devices that were wrapped for shipment at our Interact District Conference on Feb. 24. They will be shipped in a 40-ft shipping container to our International partners in Kenya for distribution there to those most in need of these mobility devices in the Rift Valley of Kenya. We are also seeking to raise $30,000 to cover the shipping costs for the container, along with the airfare and other distribution expenses associated with once again sending four or five of our top Arizona Interactor Ambassadors to Kenya for two weeks in June 2018 to help distribute these mobility devices. Colton Cagle from Westwood High School Interact (sponsored by Mesa West Rotary) has been selected as one of the ambassadors this year.Donation information to support the Crutches for Africa project:
