This month, we’re putting your Rotary knowledge to the test with a little Mesa West trivia! Some questions may be easy, while others might take you back through a bit of our club’s history.
Send President Connie your answers — the first 10 members to respond will receive a beautiful Rotary Peace pin! conniem.bunyard@gmail.com

We concentrate our efforts in order to maximize our local and global impact. Our most successful and sustainable projects and activities tend to address these causes, and all humanitarian projects, scholars, and vocational training teams funded by The Rotary Foundation’s global grants work toward specific goals in these areas of focus:
• Peacebuilding and conflict prevention: Rotary encourages conversations to foster understanding within and across cultures. We train adults and young leaders to prevent and mediate conflict and help refugees who have fled dangerous areas. • Disease prevention and treatment: We educate and equip communities to stop the spread of life-threatening diseases like polio, HIV/AIDS, and malaria. We improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in developing areas. • Water, sanitation, and hygiene: We support local solutions to bring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to more people. We share our expertise and work alongside community leaders and educators to make sure our projects succeed in the long term.
On Thursday Sept 24, Mesa West and Westwood Interact club members met up at the Mesa Salvation Army location to pack 200 Jarod's Boxes for hospitalized children. The Jared Box Project is an organization that hands out plastic shoe-sized storage boxes filled with small gifts, toys, games, and fun activities for children in the hospital.
As Rotarians, we are regularly exposed to opportunities to support various causes with our time, talent and treasure. Sometimes it is hard to sift through all the information and decide where we are going to use our available financial resources.
It would be wonderful if every Mesa West Rotarian would make the following BIG FOUR their Rotary charities of choice and support every one of them every year, we could make a bigger difference than we are making today.
