After our November 21 meeting, knowing that we would not meet again until after the McKinney Vento holiday wish list wrapping party on December 4, I sent a blast e-mail message. I asked members who had not made a shopping commitment to pledge funds to support fulfilment of the wish lists.
Within a couple of days, ten of our club members committed a total of $1,875 to this effort and paid their pledges right away. I let the committee know that the generosity of members of the Ace of Clubs had once again come through so they could designate one or more shoppers to buy the uncommitted items on the wish lists.
