Thank you to everyone who donated money, school supplies, or back packs/bags for this program. Enough has been collected to sort and create a welcome bag for each of the students that we anticipate to mentor this school year. The bags full of supplies, along with a welcome letter from our club President will be given to the social workers who work with the McKinney-Vento students. Each student that becomes a part of our Rotary Builds Bridges program will be gifted one of the welcome bags even before their meet & greet with their assigned mentor.
On that note, two additional mentors are needed! The time commitment is minimal as there are only 3 in-person meetings, which are spread throughout the school year. And mentor training will be provided.
