Rotarians and guests were welcomed to the home of Warren and Son Hee Williamson Saturday, June 29, 2019 for the annual Changing of the Guard celebration.  To say the food was plentiful would be an understatement.  Most people left with "to go" boxes that would be enjoyed for one or more additional delicious meals.

Prior to getting started with the installation, Chuck Flint recognized Warren's generosity to The Rotary Foundation, presenting him with two new recognition pins - Paul Harris plus four and five.  His recent win of the club raffle enabled the quick succession to the next level of giving.

Chris Krueger recognized her board of directors and thanked them for their support.  She presented a custom-made-by-Mike Krueger centerpiece to Pam Cohen as part of Pam's being named "Rotarian of the Year."  It is likely a very rare Rotary occasion when an outgoing President can honor a very deserving sister-in-law with that honor.  Pam supported Chris during her Presidency with some very visible support always having the AV equipment ready for speakers, planning club social events, and filling in at the podium during necessary absences.  She also supported Chris in countless other ways that were unseen but greatly appreciated!

Since the office of President cannot be vacant, even for a moment, Chris pinned Jim Schmidt with his President's Pin.  Mike Krueger got the honor of pinning Chris with her Past President's pin.  Chris was presented with a beautiful crystal award thanking her for her service as President in 2018-19.  The decorative piece was inspired by the wave that was seen in the 2018-19 RI theme logo.  The bottom right photo was taken in her home showing her holding her recognition gift.

Jim Schmidt took time to talk about the international Rotary theme for 2019-20 - Rotary Unites the World and spoke of his vision of uniting members in our already-wonderful club at a more meaningful level and getting more members of the club actively engaged in fun and rewarding activity.  Mesa West has every reason to look forward to another great year under Jim's leadership.
