  • Pam Cohen was happy to get 3 more volunteers to make chili for the Mesa West Experience
  • Machel Considine told a story about her grandson, who likes Kindergarten except that he “has to listen”

The speaker today was Melinda Cadena, Executive Director for Angels on Patrol (AOP). AOP is a non-profit founded in 2009 by a Phoenix Police Lieutenant to address the gap that often occurs between crisis situations and the ability to refer persons to appropriate resources. AOP supports on-duty police officers 24 hours per day, every day of the year. The program helps during a crisis so that officers don’t spend their own money when the want to go beyond their call of duty and help people with food, clothing or other needs. The most common crisis is domestic violence and AOP can help bridge the gap between police intervention and longer term services.
