John Pennypacker filled in for the raffle. The winning raffle ticket was held by Frank Rosenberg, but he did not draw the Ace of Clubs.
The September Mesa West Rotarian of the Month was awarded to Steve Ross. Announcements included:

- 9/25 DG Jim Schmidt speaking at next week’s lunch meeting, also a member induction, and a Rotary Builds Bridges graduation
- 11/1 Life Skills
Any Bradford collected Happy Bucks including:
- Frank Rosenberg was happy to announce that he is opening a second practice location in Chandler next month
- Dick Myren was happy to contribute for himself and Rod, and was happy that his wife’s dental procedure went well
- Harry Grossman was happy that the Cardinals won!
- John Pennypacker announced that information was at each place setting today explaining how to set up ones’ own MyRotary account
- Lucinda General was happy to be here and encouraged all to contribute regularly to MyRotary
- Jackie Wasik was happy to congratulate Mesa West Rotary for having three service projects in the Rotary International Service Project Portal and to announce that a Tempe Rotarian going to the RI Conference in Taiwan is setting up a tour after the convention
- Warren Williamson was happy to tell his weekly joke!
The speaker today was Kenzie Berger, a Community Services Liaison at the County Attorney’s office. She provided the club with an update on issues regarding bullying and teen violence.



At the conclusion of today’s meeting Colleen Coons updated the club on Rotary Builds Bridges. Backpacks have been provided to the McKinney Vento students who have signed up for the program this school year.
