President Kayla Mudge opened the meeting, Dick Myren gave an Invocation, and Ed Koeneman led the Pledge of Allegiance. Today, we had two graduating Rotary Builds Bridges, McKinney-Vento in attendance. They received congratulatory gifts from the club and were given the opportunity to speak. Additionally, Soraya Movassaghi, the District Rotaract Representative, was was here to accept a big check from MWRC to Phoenix Rotaract.
Many Happy Bucks were collected and announcements were made. The BIG news from the District Conference was that our own club President, Kayla Mudge, received the Emerging Leader of Distinction Award:

Today’s speaker was Dr. Richard Daniel, President of Mesa Community College (MCC). MCC is the largest of the 10 community colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District, and their athletic teams are nicknamed the Thunderbirds. MCC has very reasonable tuition costs and offers over 300 degree and certificate programs. In addition to associate’s degrees, MCC offers some bachelor’s degree programs, including in data analytics and early childhood education.
