
President Kayla Mudge opened the meeting, Warren Williamson led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Dick Myren gave an invocation. Next, the many guests were introduced.

Guests included Leslie (a friend of Connie’s), Rory Gilbert, Faith Johnson, Ginger (from Mesa Public Schools), Augustine Tessier, Seongjun An, Bill Peters (Mesa Sunrise RC), Mike Smith and Jeff Penrose, Harry Short, Sandrine Coniau, Jan and Dale Grey (Scottsdale Sunrise RC), Barbara Glenn (new MWRC member), Dave and Cara Dakis (Gilbert RC). There were also several Zoom attendees, including Deb Koeneman, Bob Jenson, Gaby Cutlip, Rosalyn Schmidt, and Angelia Mudge-Long.
For today’s raffle, the winner of the small pot was Erwin Reiman. He also drew the Ace of clubs and won the big pot.

- Kayla was happy that she and other MWRC members volunteered at the City of Mesa Aspire program this past weekend
- Harry Short was happy to host Rotaractors at his home in Pinetop
- Eric Silverberg was happy that so many guests were in attendance
- Polly Cady was happy that so many guests, including new and prospective membersc were here
- Jan Grey from the Scottsdale Rotary Club shared flyers regarding a memory class that they are hosting
- John Pennypacker was happy that his son is turning 55 this week
- Captain John Birks was happy to be here and noted that the Salvation Army is seeing an increased amount of food insecurity
- Ed Koeneman was happy to be here and announced that the Spring Olympics will be at his house next Saturday, April 4th
- Dick Myren was happy to donate for himself and Rod Daniels
- Steve Ross was happy that Randy Bennet (son of a former MWRC member) became the head men’s basketball coach at ASU
- Harry Grossman was happy that he went to the Cubs game last weekend
- Rory Gilbert was happy to have hosted a RYE student and has rejoined Rotary!
- Connie Bunyard was happy to have Allan Cady tell the club about the Sponsorship program

- May 1-2 - the District Conference, there are volunteer opportunities from 3-5pm on May 1st Please come to the volunteer event even if you don’t attend the whole conference
The speakers today were Augustine Tessier and Seongjun An, our RYE students this year. Each of them told us all about their home cities, their families and friends back home, and the differences in high school experience at home compared to the USA, and the many fun activities they have done here in the USA. They have both become more confident and have learned to respect different cultures. Augustine is from France. Soengjun is from South Korea.
