President-Elect Connie Bunyard stepped in to lead today's meeting. Steve Ross gave the Pledge of Allegiance and John Bunyard gave an invocation.
Today we celebrated Dick Myren's 90th birthday with cupcakes and our speaker was Christel Bell, an investigative reporter for ABC 15's "Let ABC Know" group. "Let ABC15 Know" is a consumer advocacy segment and team that helps Phoenix area residents solve problems with businesses, scams, and bureaucracy. The team investigates complaints, fights for refunds, and provides community resources. Christel shared several success stories, things to look out for, and tips to keep ourselves safe. Some tips are to use unique passwords for every account, use a pin or facial identification to lock your phone, never give money to a stranger, and there is NO NEED EVER to use a bitcoin ATM. Her producer and film crew were there to make a segment about her visit to Mesa West Rotary Club, which appeared on the evening news.
