President Kayla Mudge opened the meeting, John Pennypacker led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Eric Silverberg gave an invocation. Then John unveiled the updated club banner of District Governors which has Dave Dacus’s name, District, and year on it.
Guests today included Christian Wohl and Eric Morga. Today’s raffle was won by Lola McClane. She did not draw the Ace of Clubs, so the large pot carries over.

Eric Silverberg shared that one of the potential Peace Fellows was in a bomb attack and has had several surgeries and is still undergoing medical treatment.

- John Pennypacker updated the club that Warren Williamson is having eye surgery and one of his new grandchildren has a birthday on Monday
- Ed Koeneman was happy to have gone to Phoenix Fan Fusion last weekend
- Dick Myren was happy to contribute for himself, Rod Daniels, and Don LaBarge, and had a new great-granddaughter born on his son’s birthday
- Kayla Mudge was happy that we have a Zoom option for our meetings; Kayla shared an update about club member Lizzy Barron, who has moved back to California to care for her parents; Lizzy wanted to thank club members for reaching out to her and sorry that she has not been able to keep up with reaching back
- Jack Rosenberg shared that his wife Cindy fell in the parking lot on the way to have knee surgery, so surgery has been delayed
The speaker today was Craig McGinnis from Salt River Project. Craig gave the club an overview of Colorado River management and the issues with water rights, conservation and the applicable laws. He explained the upper basin versus the lower basin, and that the Colorado supplies water to about 40 million people.
The average water flow is on a downward trajectory. Water storage in Lake Powell and Lake Mead are well below their full capacity. Voluntary conservation methods over the past 20 years has helped to keep these reserves from being even lower.
