Jeanie Morgan recently attended a Rotary Zone Webinar about the use of social media to enhance the image of clubs both internally and externally.  She learned that if you don't post something daily, the odds are very small of posts reaching the newsfeeds of even those who have "liked" and are "following" the page.  She also learned that at least 70% of what is posted should be either entertaining or inspiring or fun, with the rest promoting the club or Rotary causes.

To test the fun aspect, on Friday, January 26, a post was made inviting viewers to help John Pennypacker decide wither to stay cleanshaven or regrow the handlebar mustache and goatee he sported recently.  Facebook and Survey Monkey statistics tell us that  more than 10% of those who viewed the post did actually take the survey.  At this writing, the cleanshaven look on the right is winning.  If you have not yet taken the survey, CLICK HERE.  The average time to answer all four survey questions is less than a minute.

We can already see that interest in the site is growing with the regular posts.  If you have something interesting you would like to share through our facebook page, send it to Jeanie.  Like with all things Rotary, we will avoid political, religious, and other subjects that can be controversial.

If you haven't already done so, visit our Facebook page, and like and follow us so you can see the posts and share the ones you like with your friends.
