An Introduction to Rotary Mesa West Rotary was established in 1973 as a part of Rotary International. Our members believe that their business affiliation and contribution to our community are simultaneously beneficial to the club, the community, and the members. Mesa West Rotary is one of over 33,000 Rotary Clubs in more than 200 countries and territories around the world. As such, Rotary is the most international of the world's service clubs, enjoying active participation of over 1,293,000 members. Established in Chicago in 1905, its founder, Paul Harris, and three of his business acquaintances rotated weekly meetings at one another's offices to discuss business issues and community concerns. Becoming a Rotarian provides an opportunity to experience the traditions and fellowship of Rotary on the local, regional, and worldwide level. Rotarians have built-in friendships and business acquaintances through the world wide Rotary network. Membership in Mesa West Rotary provides the opportunity to get to know business and professional peers in the East Valley who have chosen Rotary as a way to combine fellowship with serving our community. Our committees offer opportunities for projects that involve Youth Service, advocate International involvement, World Fellowship, Scholarships, and Vocational service and education.
